Diet planMake a plan- A diet plan maps daily food activities, everything from menu planning to exercise. Obviously planning meals dictates issues like whether food is bought or delivered and how often meals are prepared and consumed.

A good diet plan also includes the aspects of support in the form of a counselor, a friend or group meetings or a diary. Deciding whether to exercise or not demands that time be set aside for it and every day requires renewal of commitment. Each activity is a milestone toward reaching the ultimate (big picture) goal.

There will be not-so-successfull days, so have a backup plan for those days too. It is the daily commitment, so hard to make, that holds this plan together. Take a moment to think about your diet plan at each meal, recommit to weight loss and renew your efforts to keep that promise. If the plan is to cut caloric intake in half, it doesn’t work to think about cutting  portions half way through the meal.

Remember, action at the beginning of the meal, helps in sticking to the plan. Measure success In a good business plan, the goals are reasonable to achieve and objectives are clearly stated. Too often life plans start with a dream or idea, but the steps to fulfillment are unclear or it is difficult to know where to begin. In an effort to clarify the steps to better health through successful weight loss, it may help to think about the process as a business plan for life.

Learning to recognize unhealthy habits and to clearly identify milestones to success, results in fewer disappointments. There are a lot of effective diet programs available; people successfully lose weight with them but each diet has specific recommendations and steps to follow which may not fit your biology or lifestyle.

Too often the mindset of being on a diet either fades through lack of commitment or dies in frustration from mismatched tactics and unreasonable goals. Don’t let setbacks be discouraging; the next milestone is still within sight. With a little planning, the right diet plan reaches the ultimate goal: healthy body, happy outlook.
