The Jenny Craig diet program has topped a list of commercially available diet programs, Consumer Reports magazine says. Jenny Craig combines portion-controlled foods with home-cooked sides and counseling.

It came out on top after a two-year study on 332 dieters published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found 92 per cent of participants stuck with the plan for two years, which the magazine calls "a remarkable level of adherence."
Consumer Reports rated seven diet programs based on how closely they follow the 2010 U.S. Dietary Guidelines, as well as weight loss and drop-out rates in both the short-term and long-term, based on clinical trial data.
